The Beam is a tri-annual printed publication based in Berlin, focused on the topics of energy transition and the race to a zero carbon economy.
Invited to fill four pages of the magazine, we created a ficticious exposé titled Fossils: A Retrospective Study of Early 3rd Millennium Pro-Waste Lobbying, and filled the exhibition with salvaged documents from a company called "We Want Waste!"
We Want Waste! was a for-profit advocacy group which began as a faction of the dwindling American fossil-fuel and paper industries in the late 2070s. Its primary objective was to resist the growing corporate and political sustainability initiatives which are today considered commonplace. The organization dissolved in 2095 due to the exorbitant cost of running their offices on gasoline-powered generators and procuring long-obsolete printing supplies.
